It has been revealed that there are even more powerlifters from the tri-county area who will compete in the state powerlifting meet. Rice has three lifters who quali- fied in Vanessa Marquez, Raegan Nelson, and Bradi Freeman. Maruqez is in the 114 weight class with a squat of 295, bench press of 120, and 260 deadlift for a 675 total. Nelson is in the 132 weight class with a squat of 300, bench press of 140, and 300 deadlift for a 740 total. Freeman is in the 148 weight class with a 325 squat, 180 bench press, and 295 deadlift for a total of 800.
Schulenburg’s Jacob Vacek also earned a state bid in the 165 weight class with a squat of 420, 290 bench press, and 500 deadlift for a 1.210 total.
