Sheriff's office increases calls

FAYETTE COUNTY – Sheriff Keith Korenek reports a drastic increase in the number of calls for service for the Fayette County Sheriff's Office for the year 2022.

FAYETTE COUNTY — Sheriff Keith Korenek reports a drastic increase in the number of calls for service for the Fayette County Sheriff's Office for the year 2022.

The Sheriff's Office Tele communications Center receives and dispatches calls for the Sher- iff's Office, EMS Services, Fire Department Services, our three local Police Departments, and several other services. For the year 2022 our Fayette County Dispatch handled approximately 18,565 calls for the year 2022, an increase of 5,169 or roughly 38.6% from 2021.

Calls for service dispatched to Sheriff's Office Deputies to taled 8,707 an increase of 2,634 calls or roughly 43.4% over 2021.

It is apparent by these statistics that our Fayette County Sheriff's Office has been busier than ever and the numbers have drastically increased every year. Sheriff Keith Korenek and his staff will continue and strive to provide the best services to our citizens of Fayette County and any persons visiting our great county.

EMS 2022 data

The Colorado County EMS provides emergency medical coverage to Columbus, Eagle Lake and Weimar area residents. Their calls frequently include persons traveling through the county. There are three districts within the county where units are housed to respond in a matter of minutes to an emergency.

Calls responded to in 2022: - Calls for service, 221 - Patients transported, 155 - 911 calls, 177 - Transfer call, 43 - Public assist, 16 The Columbus District responded to 112 calls. The Eagle Lake and Weimar Districts responded to 45 and 41, respectively. Shifts are Shift A, B and C. A Shift received 84 calls, B Shift received 71 calls and C Shift received 66 calls.
