COLUMBUS — KULM celebrated 50 years of airwaves on Aug. 11 at the Stafford Opera House in Columbus.
Located in Columbus, KULM has been broadcasting for 50 years with only a brief interruption when a truck struck down its radio tower.
KULM launched its on-air country western and polka programs in 1973 with then-owner John Labay at the helm. Friends, family, and past and present employees gathered and had fun, enjoyed refreshments and ate world-famous Lions burgers.
KULM is best known for its country western music, sports and church programs. It also hosts a very popular Polka time hosted by Ricky Canik.
