ARNOLD “A.K.” JOHN KASMIERSKY, JR.

January 4, 1943 — March 5, 2025

Arnold “A.K.” John Kasmiersky, Jr., 82, of Fayetteville, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 (Ash Wednesday) after living an exceptional life. A.K. was born in Willow Springs, Texas on January 4, 1943, the son of Arnold and Sidonia (Vasek) Kasmiersky. He married the love of his life, Janice Halfmann, on October 24, 1965, in Frelsburg, Texas. A.K. was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He brought much joy and happiness to his family, along with unconditional love. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren while driving his farm truck and feeding his cattle. He was a long-time rancher and cattleman, and he was a hardworking man with a deep love for cattle and ranching life. A.K. found his greatest joy working livestock and spending time at the sale barn. Whether it was tending to his herd, trading cattle, or sharing stories with fellow cattleman, he lived for the rhythm of ranch life and the friendships that came with it. A.K. was a devout Catholic and a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and Rutersville Sons of Hermann. He was also a proud member of the KJT Society for 75 years. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Janice Kasmiersky; daughter, Gail Warschak and husband, Donald, of Columbus, Texas; son, Mark Kasmiersky of Fayetteville, Texas; grandchildren: Jacob Warschak and Luke Warschak, Stormy Swor and husband, Ryan; Skylar Kasmiersky and fiancé, Matthew Daniel; Karley Gaytan and husband, Tim; great-grandchildren: Macie Gaytan and Hallie Gaytan; as well as many friends and fellow cattlemen who will miss his wisdom, work ethic, and easygoing nature.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Lee Prihoda and husband Joe, and brother, Tommy Kasmiersky.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville, Texas. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville, Texas, officiated by Fr. Steven Sauser, Fr. Stephen Nesrsta, and Deacon Robert Jasek. Burial will follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Fayetteville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Endow ment Fund, P.O. Box 57, Fayetteville, TX 78940 or to the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 65, Fayetteville, TX 78940.
