BETTY JEAN (DOMINEY) KULHANEK

Betty Jean (Dominey) Kulhanek, 79, of Houston, formerly of Willow Springs, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023.

Betty Jean was born in Willow Springs, Texas on August 9, 1943, daughter of the late Lydia (Eckermann) and Ellis Dominey. She graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1962. On August 18, 1964 she married Roy L. Kulhanek in Houston, TX . Betty was a devoted wife, homemaker and mother to her three sons. She was a loving and devoted mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a loving person to anyone she met, sharing unconditional love. If you knew her, you would love her.

She was very active socially and was a member of the SPJST, KJT and RVOS Lodge #24, where she was secretary for several years.

She is survived by her loving husband, Roy L. Kulhanek, two sons: Roy L. Kulhanek, Jr. and Allen W. Kulhanek and his wife, Julia Renee` ; grandchildren: Allen Wayne Kulhanek, Jr., and wife Natasha of Conroe, TX; Brandon Dwayne Kulhanek of Houston, TX; Brian Ellis Kulhanek, Jr. of Austin, TX, and great-grandson, Cyrus Peter Camacho Kulhanek.

She was preceded in death by her parents; youngest son, Brian Ellis Kulhanek; two brothers: Leonard and Lester Dominey and other loving family members.

The family would like to thank all the staff from Anchor Hospice for all their care and kindness provided to Betty for the last four years, especially Eunice, Josie and Debbie.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 13, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Koenig - Belvill Funeral Home & Crematory, 109 E. State Hwy 71. Ellinger, TX 78938. Family will receive friends at this time. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 205 E. Bell St., Fayetteville, Texas, 78940 at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb- ruary 14, 2023, with Rev. Father Steve Sauser officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Catholic Cemetery, Fayetteville, TX.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, P.O. Box 57, Fayetteville, TX 78940 or a charity of one’s choice.
