SEALY – The second Saturday in April always brings a day of unique and interesting activities at the Spring Fest in Sealy. On Saturday, April 13, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Sealy Historical Park located at 211 East Main St. in Sealy, there will be entertainment, old-fashioned games for the kids, and demonstrations of activities from yesteryear.

It’s EB time!
The ol’ Easter Bunny kept poppin’ up all over the territory this weekend. Kids and grownups were having a good time picking up Easter eggs and some were having a good time just watching. EB hopped over to Walmart in Columbus, then over to Schulenburg and made a U-turn and headed over to Eagle Lake. All bets are on the bunny to make a lot more stops before Easter Sunday, March 31.

Child predator arrested
The Austin County Sheriff's Office ar rested Glenn Allen Meyer, 57, of Wallis for indecency with a child with sexual contact. The arrest was made on March 19 after a months-long investigation by the ACSO Criminal Investigations Division and the AC District Attorney's Office stemming from allegations against Meyer.

After a slow start to the season, the Brahmas seem to be showing flashes of their true playoff poten - tial with satisfying wins against Sealy and Navasota. This team is known for winning and being right there in the postseason for a shot at the state tournament.

State immigration law again on hold
The on-again, off-again state immigration law is once more on hold while the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals considers its constitutionality. Senate Bill 4 would allow state and local law enforce- _____ _________ ___ _______ ____ __ port people suspected of entering the state illegally from Mexico, the Austin American-Statesman reported. The U.S. Supreme Court last Tuesday removed a temporary hold on the law, which allowed it to take effect for several hours before the 5th Circuit court again stopped SB4 from being enforced while it considers its constitutionality.
