BELLVILLE – The Austin County Youth Rodeo Associa - tion (ACYRA) held its annual awards banquet on July 21 at Faith Academy in Bellville.

LA GRANGE – The annu- al Fayette County 4-H Banquet was held on Sunday, Aug. 6, at the Historic Casino Hall in La Grange. The 4-H banquet is the ultimate highlight and culmination of the year’s activities for each member, as we see one year close and a new year beginning.

EAGLE LAKE – Mary Ann Kaluza, an Eagle Lake Wintermann Library Board Member, is delighted to present one of the first items to be included in this year’s Live Auction, one of the most exciting parts of the Eagle Lake Friends of the Library Dinner and Auction scheduled at the Community Center on Saturday, Sept. 23.

CHAMPS (Charitable Heroes Achieving Memorable Performances) is a group of concerned citizens who want to see its little heroes do good in school. Giving school-aged kids that helping hand to begin school on a positive note so they may excel in their education. Barbers from Rustic Barber Shop, Shalow Styles, Letys Salon, Makayla’s and Kelvin Tarver provided their barber skills for the youngsters to sport a new style. The school supplies were provided by the Sealy Eastside Foundation.

WEIMAR – The St. Michael’s Catholic Church Harvest Fest provided a cool respite from the summer heat during its annual Harvest Fest on Sept. 13 in Weimar.

COLUMBUS – The Colora do County Senior Connections in Columbus once again exceeded its previous numbers and fun when close to 50 seniors gathered at the Stafford Opera House in Columbus for fun and games of cards, dominoes and Bingo.

COLUMBUS – Columbus Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Becky Nutt announced a Business Development program will be held Tuesday, Aug. 15 from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Nesbitt Memorial Library in Columbus. The Lunch and Learn will focus on grants. It is available to chamber members only and it is limited to 25 participants. Bring your own lunch. Contact Nutt at 979-732-8385 for any questions.

WEIMAR – Michelle Banse-Stokes and her dog, Texas, went through their paces on the obstacle course on July 21 at the Weimar gazebo in Weimar. Kids and adults lined up to watch the two perform as they do when they compete nationwide.
