First State Bank CEO and Chairman of the Board dies suddenly

COLUMBUS – Karl Hill, whose career spanned 35 years at The First State Bank of Columbus, died suddenly at his home in Columbus on May 22 at the age of 58.

He played high school baseball in Weimar and college baseball for four years before moving to the minor leagues. Carlo DeWayne Shelly, 26, of Dallas was arrested last night at the Park Place Apartments, located at 20 South Mechanic St. in Bellville. Shelly was issued a criminal trespass warning earlier in the day and was removed from the property by request.
