Wildlife Tax Valuation class
WEIMAR – Texas A&M AgriLife Extension in Austin and Colorado counties is partnering with Texas Parks and Wildlife to host a Feathers, Furs, and Farming program on Saturday, Dec. 15. The focus of this program will center around Wildlife Tax Valuation. Two general CEUs will be offered for TDA Pesticide Applicators.

SCHULENBURG – It seems like it was only yesterday that Schulenburg was born. How the years fly by and the town has crept past its infancy and its teen years. Many people enjoyed its resources for livelihood and fun. Who can forget the Upstairs at the Downstairs, Wolter’s Park and the train whistle from the train tracks that started it all.

La Grange falls to Wharton in boy's basketball
WHARTON – The La Grange High School boy’s basketball team was defeated by Wharton High School Nov. 27 at Tigers Gym by a final score of 66-58. La Grange hung tough with Wharton throughout this match, but Wharton's athleticism and ability to get to the basket was a little too much for the Leopards. “I felt like we needed to be able to play the way we played in that second half,” said La Grange head boy’s basketball coach Trent Collier.

Bellville heads to state semis with win over Jasper
CONROE - The Bellville High School football team is strolling to the state semifinals with a huge win against Jasper High School Dec. 1 at Woodforest Bank Stadium in Conroe with a final score of 31-7. Jasper made things close in the first half until Bellville settled in and played their normal game of running the football and forcing turnovers to win the contest handedly.

Fayetteville boy’s hoops holds off Weimar with big fourth quarter
WEIMAR – Fayetteville boy’s basketball traveled to Weimar High School Nov. 28 to take on the Wildcats at Wildcats Gym in Weimar and went home with a win by a final score of 70-46. This was a close game all the way until the fourth quarter when the Lions went on a scoring tear due to their feisty defense and fast break offense to secure a big win.
