COLUMBUS – The Live Oak Art Center located at 1014 Milam St. in Columbus offers free after school art classes every Wednesday and Thursday from 4 to 5 p.m. Register on the website www.liveoakartcenter.org under the classes and events tab. The free classes are offered throughout the whole school year. If registration is full they can always check back each semester.
NORTH POLE - In a news conference held last week at the North Pole, Santa Claus announced the stops on his 2024 vacation tour, and Columbus has been selected as the final stop for the third year in a row.
All beef cattle and hay producers are encouraged to turn in a sample of their hay for analysis at this year’s Austin County Hay Show scheduled for Oct. 4. COLUMBUS–After 30 years, the Colorado County Fair royalty gets a new float courtesy of the many hours of dedicated service it took fair members and great sponsors. Fair volunteer Ronnie Huebel brought the float to the fairgrounds, and then all hands were on deck to piece it together and see how it looked in its final state.
