Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Oc.t. 31, the Fayette Coun- ty Sheriff's Office Narcotics Ca nine Unit, Sgt. Randy Thumann and K9 partner Kolt, stopped an 18-wheeler pulling a flatbed trail er 10 at the 658 mile marker at approximately 12:45 p.m. for a traffic violation.

PRAHA – The 61st Anniversary All Veterans Day event was held on Nov. 5 at the Praha Cemetery in Praha. It honored all veterans of all eras and commemorated 78 years of the end of WWII.

LA GRANGE – Celebrated by cooperatives nationwide during the month of October, National Co-op Month is an annual opportunity to raise awareness of a trusted, proven way to do business and build communities. Across the United States, cooperatives bring a variety of resources and services to consumers that they might otherwise do without.

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reported that on the morning of Oct. 30 deputies responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle parked at a business in the Flatonia area.

COLUMBUS – Colorado County Deputies were dispatched to Mikeska’s BBQ at 4053 US Highway 90 in reference to a burglary alarm on Oct. 23. While en route, Deputies observed a vehicle traveling from the direction of the business on US Highway 90 toward Columbus. Deputy Tyler Pavlicek stopped the vehicle for a defective equipment violation while Deputy Zane Blaha continued to the business.

COLUMBUS – Colorado County Commissioner's Court met for their regular meeting on Oct 23. Judge Ty Prause read a resolution of recognition and appreciation to Susan Chandler of the Nesbitt Memorial Library for her diligence in coding the information to document the establishment of Colorado County. WALDECK - The Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB) has de - cided to discontinue serving food as a drive-thru format. Now the Waldeck food truck will have food distribution as a walk-up method. Volunteers will distribute the food from tables. Every client needs to bring their own sturdy reusable bags and boxes. A few wagons will be furnished by CTFB, but if the client has their own wagon, please bring it. Waldeck food truck is on third Saturdays of each month from 10 to 11 a.m. The 2023 dates are: Nov. 18 and Dec. 16.
