WEIMAR - The Friends of the Weimar Public Library will hold their annual book sale on Saturday, May 6 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Weimar Library located at 1 Jackson Square in Weimar. This sale is open to the public and everyone is invited to come see what we have to offer. The library will have many books and DVD's for sale for every age group. Paperback books are 25 cents, hardcover books $1, audio books $2 and DVD movies $1. All proceeds benefit The Friends of the Weimar Public Library organization. EAGLE LAKE – The Eagle Lake Noon Lions Club welcomed two key employees of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Yoakum District on April 27. Ryan Simper, right, is the engineer for the Wharton Area of the Yoakum District and is in charge of construction and maintenance within four Counties. Lucean Kuykendall is the Public Information Officer for the entire eleven-county Yoakum District Simpler spoke about the responsibilities of the Yoakum District to plan, design, build, operate and maintain the state transportation system in its 11 counties: Austin, Calhoun, Colorado, DeWitt, Fayette, Gonza- les, Jackson, Lavaca, Matagorda, Victoria, and Wharton.

COLUMBUS – Drymalla Construction puts the shingles on the roof of a Colorado County Habitat for Humanity house at 318 Canal St. in Alleyton. Drymalla Construction provided the labor for free. Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Char- maine Katz is looking for more organizations to volunteer to help build these houses. No ex perience in building is necessary.
