BLEIBLERVILLE - Over 19 emergency services departments streamed into Bleiblerville to fight a massive fire that torched a large residence. The multi-story house with adjacent two-story attached structures became fully engulfed in flames and the call went out from the Bleiblerville VFD for mutual aid.

ROUND TOP – The Round Top Family Library is providing a critically needed seminar for parents, grandparents and guardians. The cyber-safety seminar will inform caregivers of the threats to their children and teens in this era of online dangers. Round Top Family Library has partnered with the Fayette County Sheriff's Office and Round Top Church Christian Fellowship for the program.

LA GRANGE – Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reported that on April 17, in the process of an ongoing narcotics investigation in the La Grange area, the Fayette County Narcotics Unit received information on possible narcotics sales at a room in the Carter Motel in La Grange.

FLATONIA – Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputy Sgt. Ryan Meagher saw a male at the Amigos Country Store in Flatonia who he was familiar with through previous law enforcement interactions.

COLUMBUS – The 2023 Magnolia Belles hold the distinct honor of being ambassadors for the Columbus Bicentennial, celebrating the 200th anniversary. The Magnolia Belles are: Carina Isabella Alonso is the daughter of Aurelio and Christy Alonso. She is very active in sports. Alonso was a Colorado County Fair Queen, 2021 District Libero of the Year and Academic and Athletic Awards.

MENTZ – The Texas German Society held its Texas State Convention in Mentz on April 22. Convention delegates and guests from across the state were welcomed to Mentz Hall for the 40th Anniversary Convention.

BOERNE – The Banner Press newspaper brought home awards won in the 2023 Better Newspaper Contest at the South Texas Press Association (STPA) Conference in Boerne this past week.
