COLUMBUS – What started as a not-so-simple window painting at The First State Bank in Columbus to show their Cardinal Spirit quickly became a friendly competition amongst businesses in town. Columbus State Bank accepted the challenge, followed by A Creative Touch, A Brighter Day Child Care, The Dewberry Café, Keyser Market, Leyco Real Estate, Columbus Outfitters, Harrell Dentistry, John John’s 2 Go, The Silver Barn, Trinity Logistics and Dairy Cone.

KENNEY – The Austin County 4-H hosted their annual awards banquet on Aug. 13 with over 200 in attendance. This year’s banquet was hosted by Stars & Stripes and Bellville 4-H Clubs at Kenney Agricultural Society Hall in Kenney and the meal was catered by Big Boys Catering.
