How to Hypnotize a Chicken
How to Hypnotize a Chicken

When I was thirteen years old, my Dad taught me how to hypnotize a chicken. We had just finished a 4-H meeting at our house. As we chatted in the yard, I noticed a couple of my Mom’s laying hens nearby. My Dad casually grabbed one hen by the legs and remarked to me, “Did I ever teach you how to hypnotize a chicken?” I replied that I’d never heard of such a thing. My Dad then proceeded to show me how to hypnotize a chicken. It was an amazing thing to see. Here’s how it is done.

I am making my daily trip to Gross’ Store in Bernardo on a hot summer afternoon. I usually walked, although I had my bike before I could ride that bike. My 10-minute walk up a country road in the summer heat was well worth the prize that waited for me at the store.

Last week I was driving down Travis Street in Columbus. Anytime I see the colors red or aqua, I always do a double take on what it might be. To my total shock, there was a young girl, maybe six or seven years old, on an aqua-colored electric scooter, not wearing a helmet. To make matters worse, she also had a young child, maybe three or four years old, sitting on the front handlebars and another younger child sitting on the back.

Bellville baseball alum Luetge traded to Atlanta Braves

Bellville Brahmas baseball graduate and current Major League Baseball pitcher Lucas Luetge was recently traded from the New York Yankees to the Atlanta Braves about a month ago. Luetge has had quite the career with a lot of ups and downs, which is normal for a player at the MLB level, but really progressed during his time with the Yankees and is on track to have a stellar career with the Braves. It seems like whenever he’s on the mound, he has a productive outing, which is why the Yankees utilized him as one of their key relievers throughout the 2022 season and also why the Braves wanted to go through with the trade.
