COLUMBUS – The smell of food was in the air last Sun day as the Columbus Volunteer Fire Department hosted its annual Fish and Oyster Fry at the KC Hall in Columbus. Hundreds of cars lined up for the drive-through service, and just as many parked in the parking lot and lined the streets to get meals.

4-H compete in SAT Dairy judging

The Colorado County 4-H group headed to San Antonio in February for the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo Dairy Judging contest. Team members include Audrey Potter, Jack Dudensing, Colten Koy, Lana Potter, Dakota Lindemann, Jacob Koy, Caden Key, Payton Lindemann and Henry Jones. Lana Potter earned ninth high point individual.

Columbus Cardinals survives late comeback from Randolph

LOCKHART – The Columbus High School boys basketball team escaped with a close win vs Randolph High School at Lockhart ISD Gym Feb. 21 by a final score of 57-55. Columbus had control for most of the game and Randolph slowly but surely creeped back in the contest. The Cardinals gritty performance down the stretch led them to the win. “We know basketball’s a game of runs,” said Columbus interim head boys basketball coach Lowell Narcisse. Cardinals head coach Troy Bohac missed the game due to an illness.
