Columbus Garden Club announces June winners

LA GRANGE – The Fayette County Fair announced that three exceptional young ladies will compete for the esteemed title of 2024 Fayette County Fair Queen and two more for the 2024 Fayette County Fair Junior Miss, showcasing the talent and potential of the community’s youth.

IRECTOR Leadership Colorado County will consist of nine (9) sessions held monthly on the second Wednes- day of each month September through May of each year. Sessions will cover but not limited to: leadership and leadership development; operations of local, state, and federal government; business and economic development; k-12 and higher education; health care; safety, law en- forcement, EMS, fire; agriculture, utilities, service organizations, and community development. Sessions will begin at 7:30 a.m. and end at 5:30 p.m. Most sessions will have a working lunch. Time may vary on the legislative day.

WEIMAR–A&M AgriLife Extension Services in Austin and Colorado counties are partnering with Texas Parks and Wildlife to host a grazing program on Friday, July 26.

SCHULENBURG–The Stanzel Museum announced that a captivating event will take attendees on a journey into the fascinating world of space exploration. On Saturday, July 6 three distinguished representatives from NASA's Launch Services Program will deliver an informative presentation about their current work and future missions.

Social media posts have been mounting against the proposed wind energy farm in Fayette County near Schulenburg. This 20,000-plus acreage wind farm will generate 250 megawatts of power, with windmills up to 600 feet tall.
