2023 Austin County Fair Queen and Court announced

Hit by a number of vehicle thefts for as many months, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office reported that there were stolen vehicles in the La Grange area Monday in the early hours of Oct. 2. A firearm was also stolen from a vehicle. The rash of vehicle thefts continues as the sheriff's office and local police departments grapple with these hit-and-run thefts.

Turtle Wing Foundations 12th year comes to a close. With the mission of "helping individuals with learning challenges in rural areas achieve their full potential by providing access to a shared network of emotional, educational, and therapeutic resources", the year has been one of true growth. Paul Henry Minar was born in Welcome, Texas on June 14, 1918, to Peter Paul Minar and Amelia Henneke Minar. His dad was a farmer and moved the family when Paul was 2 years old to Industry. After 3 years the family moved again, to Frelsburg. He began school in New Ulm. His father bought a 146-acre farm around New Ulm. Paul dropped out of school after the 4th grade to help his father with the new farm.

LA GRANGE – The Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center in La Grange will host the 10th annual Heritage Fest & Muziky on Oct. 14 and 15. This year’s Fest will include SPJST’s 125th Anniversary Celebration with added venues and entertainment!
