Easter Sunrise church services held

SEALY – The Sealy Spring Fest opened to a light drizzle and cloudy skies on April 8 at the Sealy Historical Park in Sealy. That did not keep vendors or festival-goers from taking in the sights and sounds of the annual event.

RESS COLUMBUS – Area Vietnam Veteran’s Chapters gathered on March 29 in Columbus in honor of their service during the Vietnam War. Over 2.7 million Americans served in Vietnam. The average age of those not making it back to “the world” was 23.

LA GRANGE – La Grange Mayor Jan Dockery and Fayette County Judge Dan Mueller recently hosted a meeting at the Fayette County Courthouse in La Grange where they met with Andrew Ross, a representative of U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul and Jeff Williford and Jill Wyman, Regional representatives for U.S. Senator John Cornyn.

Fayette County Deputy Sgt. Ryan Meagher attempted to stop a 2017 silver Ford F-250 on Interstate 10 westbound near Flatonia on March 21. The vehicle was silver but the registration stated the vehicle was white.

SEALY – The heavy equipment auction house, Yoder and Frey, held its first drive-thru auction on March 30 outside of Sealy.

Colorado County Chief Deputy Troy Neisner released a statement about a pursuit on March 28 that led to child endangerment and other charges stemming from a theft(s) from local businesses.

COLUMBUS – Columbus Community Hospital has been named a top 100 rural and community hospital by the Chartis Center for Rural Health. This is the fifth year in a row the hospital has received this national recognition.
