COLUMBUS – A formation meeting for the Columbus Senior Citizens Center will be held Wednesday, March 22 at 10:30 a.m. at the Nesbitt Memorial Library in Columbus. Come give your feedback and what you would like to see in the center. The future senior center will be for active seniors seeking things to do and have fun.

BELLVILLE - The Austin County Fair Association is pleased to announce the 2023 Austin County Fair Association scholarship application is now available to all graduating high school seniors in Austin County.

LA GRANGE - The Fayette Community Foundation (FCF) is now accepting applications for their 2022-2023 scholarship funds.

LA GRANGE - FayCo Printing, located at 1350 State Highway 159, in La Grange has been awarded a Business Expansion and Relocation Grant.

Two local restaurants, Lulu’s and Celebrations!, are holding dinners, with steaks provided by HeartBrand Beef, in February with the proceeds benefiting the Red Door Fund for Mental Health (RDF) to support mental health awareness, services and providers in the area.

NADA – The Nada Community Center in Nada jumped to life on Feb. 4, when the Garwood Volunteer Fire Department lined up the bowls of stew and cornbread. People, far and wide, came to taste some of the best stew around and to fellowship and support a worthwhile cause.

SCHULENBURG – The north wall of St. Rose of Lima Catholic School in Schulenburg was defaced during the early morning hours sometime between Saturday night of Jan. 28 and Sunday, Jan. 29.

LA GRANGE – The crowd came out to Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club for the La Grange Area Chamber of Commerce on Jan. 27 for its 2023 annual banquet.

COLUMBUS – Nesbitt Memorial Library (NML) in Columbus is celebrating the completion of a grand renovation with a ribbon- cutting ceremony Thursday, Feb. 16, from 4 to 6 p.m. Fresh changes blanket almost every inch of the interior. New shelving poised on colorful updated flooring and a totally new kitchen facility will be showcased along with the NML Archives.
