Weimar has a really good chance to make it back to states for the second year in a row and are led by head coach Roger Maupin and Colorado State softball commit Reagan Wick.

SAN MARCOS - Bulldogs baseball secured another playoff win May 19 at Rattlesnake Field in San Marcos as Titan Targac pitched another stellar outing with no earned runs allowed in a 5-0 result. Flatonia provided support for Targac with their bats to secure the win.
GEORGETOWN - The Sealy High School baseball team was defeated by Navarro High School at East View High School in Georgetown in a two-game series by scores of 3-2 and 7-2. Sealy was able to take the lead one of the games on their very first at bat with a walk and a double to left field from senior Demarcus Thompson.
The Columbus and Fayette- ville High School baseball teams, along with the Weimar High School softball team, are still standing in the playoffs with a three-game series to play to see who makes it to state. Each has made it to the regional final round. Colum bus baseball faces off with Santa Gertrudis Academy to- day (Thursday, May 25) and the time and place is still being determined.

Garret Nedd, Sealy High School senior signed on to play baseball at Texas Lutheran University (TLU) on May 17 at Sealy High School in Sealy. Nedd was a three-year starter for the Tigers where he pitched and played shortstop. His senior year he had a 10-1 won-loss record and finished with a 0.83 earned run average.

BELLVILLE – The Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run came through Bellville on May 18. Bellville Police Officer Victoria Bell carried the torch representing Bellville PD. Law enforcement runners made their way through town. Runners represented a multitude of agencies from the southeastern region of Texas.
ROSENBERG – The Rosenburg Police Department arrested former law enforcement officer Christopher Can - non on May 22 at approximately 9:55 a.m. Columbus Police learned that Cannon was being held on a CPD outstanding warrant.
Lions baseball recently advanced in the postseason and have kept their playoff success on track as they defeated Medina High School May 11 in a double header by scores of 10-0 and 12-5. The Fayetteville offense has been scorching hot in crunch time as nearly the entire lineup recorded a hit in game one. In game two, the standouts were Lawson Fritsch and Travis Gully, who drove in five RBI's combined.
COLUMBUS – Anyone driving around Columbus these days must have seen one or two new murals going up in the Downtown area. COLUMBUS – Don Clark was sworn in as Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3, on May 11 by the Colorado County Commissioners Court to fill the unex pired term left void by the death of Judge Francis Truchard.
The Tejano community came out to celebrate with music and dance for the Day of the Mothers or Mother's Day on May 13 at the Colorado County Fairgrounds in Columbus. FAYETTEVILLE – The rolling hills in the Fayetteville area is a fun-filled but challenging ride as the Fayetteville Good Old Bicycle Ride Classic pushes off on Sunday June 4 in downtown Fayetteville. The start point is at the Fayetteville Town Square at 8 a.m. and links road and gravel courses for a fresh 60 mile ride.
